Summon Monk Familiar

Prior to their struggle against the hordes of Yng, the ancient Merudri found many pathways to other worlds. With the Blue Valley serving as a conjunction of dimensions, their manipulation of the reality rift that separated the valley from their ancient home allowed not only their own kin to traverse it, but foreign inhabitants of other dimensions as well. One expedition of the Merudri to find a way home led them to a bright world full of strange and colourful flora. A magnificent sky burned in a deep blue with a violent white sun, hurting the eyes and the skin of the travellers. The colours of blossoms, leaves and grass were so overwhelmingly bright, that they feared a mere touch would hurt or even kill them. Its waters were thicker than the water they knew, dripping from leaves, filling small and larger ponds and sparkling heavily down mighty waterfalls.

Eight days into the expedition they did not find any safe source of food or animals to hunt. Walking along endless rolling hills, grassy fields and huge forests with no landmarks nor stars to orient except the searing sun, they finally lost their way. Pressing onward, they tried to sleep less and increase the travelling distance between rests. Clouds started to form and turn the sky into an overcast relief for their tortured bodies. The possibility of an ocean or at least a very large body of water came to their minds. On their way, an expansive dark and dank forest stretching as far as their eyes could see had to be crossed in order to progress. The dangerous nature of almost everything that surrounded them, made traversal severely difficult and every touch of the highly poisonous plants potentially deadly.

Reaching a deep crevice that divided a large part of the jungle, they spotted a large creature, seemingly motionless at the very bottom. It was decided to climb down and inspect the colossus to find out what could be gathered from its carcass. As they came closer, the silhouette of a large omniphant revealed itself before them. An elephant-like creature with massive tusks and human-like hands, strangely ornamented and draped in jewellery. He was lying in the mud, still breathing, with a heavy thorn stuck deep in his foot. While the local flora seemed harmless to the creature, the thorn was still paralysing and forcing it to remain still. It was decided to try and help the creature to eventually lead the group out of the forest, instead of killing it for food. As even without any edible plants or smaller animals in sight, they still had to find a way out of the forest to have any chance of survival.

Aware that removing the enormous thorn would potentially burn their skin, poison them or even worse, the Merudri grabbed it. Under severe pain and extreme effort, they manage to pull it out of the foot. The creature screams and almost squashes its shaken and exhausted rescuers as it gets back on its feed, panicking. Calming down and reassured that the group is not posing any threat, the omniphant moves closer. To the surprise of the expedition, the imposing creature rises and walks like one of them, giving them a sign to follow. It lead the group safely out of the forest and into the heart of a large gathering of countless others of their kin. Taking place within an enclosed basin surrounded by a group of gigantic trees, it was an awe-inspiring sight. The group was greeted as if they were of their own. They were healed and sheltered, welcome and able to freely roam their temporary haven. Finally, with the help of the omniphants, the Merudri expedition returned to the rift. Saved and bestowed with the gift to summon an omniphant to come to help in case of being in danger ever again.
